(no subject)

last night i had drinks with jeff at mellow mushroom for a couple of hours. i mean, i had mountains and mountains of latin to translate, but i really didn't care that much about who else Caesar conquered (and he was buying). so i had three lovely bombay sapphire g&t's. i think one day i will pull a Kim Addonizio and write a poem about how much i love gin. truly. and i finally got to talk about "eternal sunshine" with someone who's seen it. and is a film major. (and caitlin? i think you'll love this, because you read the glass essay in 201 right?) he had lisa for 201 and one of the exam questions was how would you film a scene in the glass essay. so he wrote about the scene where she's in the hospital with her father. and he wanted it to be snowing in the hospital room. and then for them to be outside, but still in the chair. i thought that was nice. and i told him about my dad going to antarctica, which just amazed him. he was like "oh! please say he has a beard! he has to have a beard!" kristin and steven are right, jeff is kind of like the boy version of me. i don't want to tell them that, though, because they will gloat for the rest of their adult lives.
