Feb. 7th, 2009 01:30 amSo I got this job that I really wanted, that I've been waiting to hear back from. It's a copy-editing position, and it's salaried, and I'm second in command to the main content supervisor. So I'll basically be the main copy-editor! This is perfect for me, and it's in downtown Charlottesville with a company called Silverchair. Also, I get to wear jeans to work, and I don't have to return the Chicago Style Manual I bought to brush up before the interview. I'm so happy. I sent handwritten thank you notes, and I called to follow up, and I didn't sleep for even a minute the night before the interview, but I knew I'd done a great job afterwards. Didn't want to say anything though, it seems like it might jinx it, you know? So I drove straight to work and told them my last day is the 16th. Thank god, I will never work in hospitality again if I can help it. I just do not care about rich people's petty complaints. It sounds odd to say that I care much more about correct grammar, but dammit, I do. I start on the 17th, and I finally have my weekends free again, and it's salaried with benefits. I feel like going out to celebrate!
